Founded in 1910, the Ohio Manufacturers' Association (OMA) has more than 1,400 member companies that reflect all of Ohio's manufacturing verticals — such as transportation equipment, plastics, fabricated metal, machinery, and chemical. OMA helps manufacturers work together and learn from each other in key management disciplines, including energy, environmental, government affairs, human resources, safety and workers' compensation, tax and finance, workforce development, and leadership.


With iMIS we have a lot of dashboards that track everything from phone calls to sales for the year. That has become a big benefit. I like the fact that iMIS is very flexible. I can have a vision and can build it. Our staff site changes weekly to meet the needs of our users.
 

 

Challenge

OMA needed to be able to track everything about its members — from first contacts to joining and then ongoing communication and engagement. The organization needed a centralized system with the flexibility to grow and change as its staff and members' requirements evolved. Staff needed to streamline reporting so it wasn’t as time-consuming and arduous and OMA needed a way for the customers of its workers’ compensation business to run reports and track statuses.

Solution

OMA began using iMIS for billing, contact tracking, event management, email (utilizing process automation), the membership website, and staff portal. Powerful dashboards empowered the association to track monthly and yearly goals, daily/weekly/monthly sales, call tracking, closing workers’ comp accounts, and other benchmarks. A single member view was created to give staff the status information they needed at a glance. Workers' compensation customers were able to access documentation for claims information online and quickly pull all their individual reports and invoices.

Results

The OMA Sales Team now likes seeing the status of all their accounts and being able to pull reports and lists. Staff enjoys the fact that iMIS is intuitive, everything they need is accessible, and updates to the staff site can be created quickly and easily as needs change. OMA’s "Power Users" are always looking for new ways to use process automation to make their jobs easier. And Management values the dashboards that enable them to track financial performance and progress towards achieving institutional goals.
