Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind and America's VetDogs Success with iMIS Fundraising Software

The Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind provides guide dogs and training — free of charge — to people who are blind, visually impaired, or have other special needs. America's VetDogs was founded by the Guide Dog Foundation as the canine corps to serve the needs of disabled veterans and active duty personnel.

We have had to take a look at reducing our staff costs and have done things to try and reduce staff without reducing services. iMIS helps us be more productive by integrating all of the information across all platforms. Revenue is rising; we have revenue coming from new sources.

Due to changes in the economy, the organizations were forced to reduce staff costs. Their challenge was to make these cuts without reducing the services they provided or affecting the quality of the programs. They also needed to look at creative ways to raise additional funds.

With iMIS, the Guide Dog Foundation and America's VetDogs were able to maintain all of their constituent data in one place -- tracking purchases as well as the number of gifts received, the amounts, and the specific appeals that generated them. They have used iMIS in multiple ways across all departments to increase productivity -- from enhancing volunteer management to generating general ledger and accounts receivable batches.

Revenue is up and they are raising funds from new sources. The Guide Dog Foundation and America’s VetDogs are seeing efficiency gains and are increasing program service success. The volunteer program is really growing and they're seeing all the different ways volunteers are able to work with them and help their programs. They are spreading their message around the world and showing what a difference people can make in each other's lives.
