Pi Beta Phi Success with iMIS Membership and Fundraising Software

Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women promotes friendship, develops women of intellect and integrity, cultivates leadership potential, and enriches lives through community service. Founded in 1867, the fraternity has 250,000 members, 134 chapters, and 300 alumnae groups.

iMIS is an excellent product for Greek groups because of its ability to manage large numbers of members. For fundraising purposes and marketing purposes, it's huge because they can track fundraising and spending trends that they can use for marketing down the road. And, being able -- a year from now -- to look back and see who spent what is a huge source of information for us.

Pi Beta Phi was previously using Patriot to manage their member and donor information. They wanted to leverage their data to meet strategic objectives and Patriot wasn't growing quickly enough to keep up with their objectives. Pi Phi had a number of different modules that weren't talking to each other and they needed all their information contained in one system.

iMIS was a more robust system that provided a central location for all their data and to manage email marketing, event registrations, billing, and store operations. Pi Phi merged their fraternity and foundation databases so they could manage all their fundraising and marketing efforts through iMIS. Pi Phi integrated several hundred chapter websites with iMIS and their foundation was able to complete a $6 million fundraising campaign.

Pi Phi can now track members’ event participation, activities, positions held, and what they’re buying. They are able to more quickly gather data, dues billing is more efficient, and receivables are now collected on a timelier basis. They've automated and simplified several processes, including online reporting -- which the chapters appreciate. And, Pi Phi can analyze trends for marketing purposes and develop more creative value-added benefits for members.
