Murdoch University Success with iMIS Fundraising Software

Located in Perth, Australia, Murdoch University has 22,000 students and 2,000 staff from across 100 different countries. Recognised as one of Australia’s leading research institutions, the University has a range of facilities including a comprehensive vet hospital, engineering pilot plant, chiropractic clinic, and media arts centre.

We've been able to reduce the turnaround time that our clients receive their thank you letters/receipts. It used to be 5 to 10 days, and now we have it down to a 1 day turnaround time, and iMIS made that happen.

Prior to iMIS, Murdoch University had no dedicated database solution. The faculty and schools manually housed their data in pockets all around the University using Excel, Access, and FileMakerPro. The Office of Development was created to centrally manage Murdoch’s donor data in one area.

Murdoch University selected iMIS because it was an out-of-the-box system that could be tailored to meet their specific strategic needs. With it, they were able to manage capital campaigns, prizes and scholarships, university fundraising (as well as fundraising for the vet hospital), and events. Each of the iMIS upgrades over the years has been completed on-time and on-budget.

All the donor data is now managed in a single database and this is improving donor satisfaction and staff productivity. With ASI’s focus on creating clients for life and frequent system updates, the University can focus on the strategic growth of their database rather than on the technology. NiUG has also become a fantastic resource to the University for networking and exchanging ideas on how to get the most from the system.
