Views of iMIS
As part of the evolution of iMIS to a
thin-client product, ASI is approaching iMIS
in a new way. The lines between traditional back-office functions and
the capability of the web have blurred, but the iMIS 15 system brings them back into focus within a
new context. iMIS 15 is a complete system
built to meet both the needs of your organization and your constituents.
This is essential to understanding iMIS 15
– more than ever it represents and understands that symbiotic
relationship and takes into account how these relationships are changing
the way your data is collected, managed and analyzed. At the same time,
the system is built to be forward-facing and offers your constituents
methods to manage their own interaction with your organization on their
own terms, reinforcing the value of their relationship and their
loyalty. One system with different access points for different
types of users.
What does this mean? Anyone who touches your organization and has
relevancy to your organization’s operations is a user
of iMIS Access to your iMIS system is now based on user classes, not just
technology. iMIS 15 takes into consideration
what types of users are accessing your system, what their needs are as
well as what method they are using to access your iMIS system. Dependent on what user class your
constituents are assigned to, their view, or what aspects and functions
of your iMIS system they have access to,
changes to meet their appropriate and unique needs. This is a
concept which greatly enhances the user experience and extensibility of
your iMIS system.
The Casual View
In the continuum of users' access needs to your iMIS system - the casual user falls somewhere in the
middle. The casual user doesn't need access to every capability of your
iMIS system, but does provide some type of
service for your organization that requires them to have access on a
limited basis. Most commonly this user could be represented by
volunteers, leadership or consultants. The casual view allows the casual
user to view and edit contact information for any contact as well as
view events and products that are available to public users through a
browser.
