Standards
Our core philosophy is that software should be designed around best
practices, based on proven technologies, and follow one continuous
upgrade path. Following and adhering to these standards ensures that our
products meet and exceed your organizational needs. Our approach and
commitment to standards comes directly from our Chief Technology
Officer, Don Robertson, and are implemented
throughout our product development process.
Strategic Vision & Planning
First and foremost, the CTE takes into consideration how customer
evolving needs intersect with the ever-changing technology environment.
Our commitment to continuous research and development, market research
and planning ensures that intersection and market demands are reflective
of the overall vision of the product. This vision is applied and
measured against outlined product features and direction and technology
requirements. This allows ASI to ensure that the iMIS system preserves
and enriches its feature set while maximizing new capabilities that
changing technologies offer.
User Experience and Consistency
The CTE is committed to the continual improvement of the user
experience. Our design and production phases take advantage of user
experience, graphical design, interaction design and usability best
practices and processes. We make sure they get implemented in a
consistent manner across the entire iMIS
system because we understand
concepts like simplication of interface, standardization of icons,
interface layout, and colors allow for a predictable user experience
which increase the effectiveness of your iMIS
system.
Object Oriented Design
All of our development is based in object-oriented design which
allows for increased flexibility and near limitless extensibility.
All objects within the system are designed to operate in the Microsoft
Windows Server environments with the .NET framework installed and to
work with data stored in Microsoft SQL Server and Express
databases. Furthermore, objects are familiar to Microsoft .NET
practitioners through adherence to Microsoft standards outlined in the
.NET software development kit (SDK).
Quality Assurance
We rigorously test all aspects of iMIS
throughout the entire product
production process. We review the validity of initial requirements, use
cases, and click-through models before production begins. During
production, engineering designs of business objects, schema, structural
or logical choices as well as UI panels/controls are all reviewed on a
consistent basis. Furthermore, quality assurance is verified during
formal testing of functionality, but it also is applied to validate
overall
usability of the product, performance adequacy, and ensuring the end
result addresses all the necessary details required for a
“great” product.
Customer Support
We take the idea of customer for life seriously. We support our
customers and products in a variety of ways; through our AiSPs, Customer
Care Programs and our award-winning Technical Support team, who this
year earned the prestigious Support Center Practices (SCP) Certification
for a fifth consecutive year. SCP Certification
quantifies the effectiveness of customer support based upon a stringent
set of performance standards and represents best practices in the
industry.
Documentation
Every module of iMIS comes with
documentation to assist you in understanding features, processes and
installation.
