Product Platform Strategy

iMIS 15 is designed to provide users with the control to design and customize their iMIS system to meet their individual requirements through the introduction of tool-based applications created using a standardized core set of tools that we call the iMIS System Architect (iSA).

The iSA is the underpinning of each application module that exists in the iMIS system. In order to introduce the iSA into the iMIS system, each existing module is being overhauled and re-architected so that the application module is actually created using the iSA as its core. This new framework of adopting a set of core tools from which application modules are then built offers tremendous value to ASI customers by allowing for rapid development and release of new application modules and feature set enhancements.

Customers also benefit by having the ability to customize the business processes, workflow, and experiences of their users through one standard set of easy-to-learn tools. Customers can maintain their flexibility while maximizing their software investment by receiving product upgrades that only affect the iSA and do not affect their custom settings and preferences. This results in upgrade projects that are much more efficient and far more economical than ever before.

The iSA is truly at the core of iMIS 15 and is found in each layer of the product structure. The power of the tool is seen in its ability to affect each layer of the product structure. With tools that allow administrators to design and define their own business objects, iSA offers unlimited flexibility and capability in application design. Tools that allow for designing security schema, workflow processes, and data processes are also available in the iSA and allow organizations to truly produce a system that fits their unique needs without requiring costly code changes.  Finally, the iSA offers the capability to directly dictate the user experience through defining what users will see, what they will be able to do, and in what environment they will operate.
