More than a century old, the Florida Association of Insurance Agents (FAIA) is a not-for-profit state trade association of insurance agencies affiliated with the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America, Inc., and 18 local boards throughout Florida. FAIA is dedicated to serving the needs of its nearly 2,100 independent property and casualty insurance agents -- and consumers -- by promoting a healthy and competitive insurance environment through education, legislation, communication, and member services.


Since FAIA implemented iMIS, we have actually doubled our member base. Throughout this growth, iMIS has been with us every step of the way with flexible/scalable solutions that meet our expanding and evolving needs. Challenge

Prior to iMIS, the FAIA was using a customized program running on a mainframe computer to manage their member data. The technology was outdated and it was difficult to keep up with the changing needs of the organization. And, because of the specialized programming expertise required to maintain the system, it was extremely expensive to run. The organization wanted to switch to a PC network that was more user-friendly, scalable, and cost-efficient.

Solution

FAIA evaluated several systems and selected iMIS for two primary reasons: the reasonable cost and client support. Pricing was a factor but value was the real driver for FAIA. They needed an affordable solution that would work for them well into the future and provide an ongoing return on their investment. ASI’s award-winning client support, training, and independent user group were also important to FAIA -- they wanted to know they would have the support they needed and wouldn’t be left on their own.

Results

FAIA uses iMIS to manage its member relationships, events, education and social networking. They have enhanced the member experience with a customized web interface where -- with a single sign-on -- members can register for events, update their profiles, and connect with colleagues through the FAIA social community. FAIA has increased staff productivity by streamlining workflows and iMIS has helped them better find, retain and serve their members. With a 95% retention rate, FAIA is obviously doing something right.
