Multi-Instance UDT Editor iPart
iMIS web views (casual and full) only allow
editing of single-instance (SI) user defined
tables (UDTs). This can be a big limitation for Casual users who may not
have access to
desktop iMIS. Without the ability to edit
multi-instance (MI) user defined tables, an
organization may not be able to use the features of iMIS effectively. We have found many
of our clients are relunctant to move to iMIS
15 web views without the ability to access
and edit all areas of data about a record.
We developed a solution to allow this capability, leveraging as much
of standard iMIS as
possible and imitating iMIS where we must. We
considered the possible configurations a
client may require and created iParts with
both basic and advanced editing capabilities.
Because they are iParts, iCreate Advanced or
WCM is required to install and use these
enhanced features.
To allow a user to perform the same functions on the web as from the
desktop, we created
the Multi-Instance UDT Editor. It consists of several iParts which can be combined in a
variety of ways to allow access, organize information, and improve
workflow. The
configuration of these iParts are themselves
stored in a multi-instance demographic table,
as well as Gen_Tables and the System Setup area of iMIS.
