Scantron Test/Survey Results Importer
Many iMIS customers need a way to import data
from third party sources. Specifically, testing facilities will often
submit a file of students and test scores submitted from the testing
facility. For some organizations the students are known and for some the
students may or may not be in iMIS. This tool
provides for the matching and importing/synching of records into iMIS. In some cases the data that the student fills
out when taking the test is newer. This allows the staff member to
review each record and determine which fields to update on a record by
record basis. Think of it as a duplicate merge manager for iMIS and an external spreadsheet. The key features
of the system include:
- The ability to import a file
provided by a testing facility that includes Scantron results.
- The ability to see and manage uploaded files • The
ability to enter key information about a file including a course id,
course number/name, instructor (from a drop down table in iMIS, course hours, and course exam date)
- This information will be used to process the
file.
- Ability to automatically match the record against
other iMIS records to determine if the person
is a match or not with an iMIS record. The
staff member can review each record and either select a possible match
or create a new record.
- Ability to determine on a field by field data which
data to update in iMIS based on the data in
the spreadsheet.
- Ability to create new records on the fly from iMIS while correcting spellings or misinformation
provided by the student when filling out the Scantron form.
- Saves CEU credit information and test scores in the
iMIS activity record.
- Provides the ability to stop and finish later when
reviewing student records. The solution uses the .NET iMIS Business object and fits into the iMIS infrastructure easily as either a .NET User
Control or an iPart. It integrates with the iMIS 15 and iMIS 10 logins
resulting in a unified single login.
