Toy Industry Association Enhances its Annual Toy of the Year (TOTY)
Awards Program with iMIS-Powered
Microsite
Organization Leverages Software's Flexibility and Openness to
Capture Voter Data and Manage Interactive Web Content
Alexandria, VA (March 7, 2011) - Advanced Solutions
International (ASI), the largest, privately-owned global provider of
software for member- and donor-based non-profits, today announced that
the Toy Industry Association successfully enhanced its annual Toy of the
Year (TOTY) Awards program microsite with iMIS
and its Web Content Management solution (WCM), and the help of
Authorized iMIS Solution Provider Armstrong
Enterprise Communications.
The annual TOTY awards program underwent a significant transformation
in 2010-2011, with a new voting process that broadened participation and
increased the TOTY constituent base by collecting data from five
different constituent groups, including consumers. Making its debut
during the holiday shopping season, the new iMIS-powered microsite was launched to showcase
nominated toys and games and shopping tips, and to collect voter and
sweepstakes data.
An interactive, flexible and open, web-based solution, iMIS enabled Toy Industry Association to build and
integrate third-party technologies into a consumer-facing microsite and
to effectively manage the site’s look, navigation, workflow and
interactive content. The tool acted as a central repository for more
than 40,000 votes, profiles and a website template for easy, future TOTY
program use.

- "Our association wanted to
make a splash with the new TOTY awards microsite," said Isabel
Carrion-Lopez, online communications manager for TIA. "It was critical
for us to have easy, out-of-the-box integration with iMIS and an open platform. WCM was the best solution
for us."
- "We are pleased that TIA leveraged the flexibility
and functionality of its existing association management software, iMIS, to drive a successful awards program and
microsite," said Bob Alves, chairman and CEO of ASI. "The project not
only was delivered on time and on budget, but also demonstrated the
benefits of a single, comprehensive system for managing constituent data
and web content."
