Don Robertson - President & Chief
Technology Officer
Don Robertson is an architect for the non-profit industry. With no
knowledge whatsoever of steel or concrete, Don's ideas have
supported more than 2,500 non-profits around the world.
His grand designs began taking shape while at the Southwestern State
University of Oklahoma, earning a Bachelor of Science
in Physics. Don set his sights on the non-profit industry, and has since
been responsible for one of the great constructs in the market, the
iMIS solution.
Before helping to found ASI in 1991, Don honed his craft with Texas
Instruments, American Standard and non-profit software
developer Smith Abbott. During his time providing software consulting
services at Smith Abbott, Don was struck by the gap in reliable,
flexible and scalable software solutions for the non-profit marketplace.
This, he knew, must change.
Determined to remedy the situation, Don dedicated himself to the idea
of pioneering a technology solution that could effectively
manage an organization's people, communications and resources. The
iMIS solution was born, and today it remains
the flagship product of the award winning company he helped to
create.
Today, as President and Chief Technology Officer of ASI, Don works
hard to represent the company's philosophy through its technology. Don
has a deep affection for the non-profit industry, is an ardent supporter
of the community and an active participant within it.
"Business applications are meant to make life easier and free
people's time to focus on more important things," says Don.
"Processes shouldn't change to fit the software, the software should
'know' what you need it to do and map to your needs."
While designing groundbreaking software for the betterment of
enterprise non-profits, Don enjoys sailing and traveling the world with
wife Edie and family.
